Event Details – New for 2026!
Join us for Buoy Toss and a Welcome to the Maine Senior Games event. Buoy Toss is a close cousin of cornhole. Come join in the fun from 9am-12pm!
Overview
This year we’ll be having a slightly different format for the buoy toss event. We have limited equipment for this year’s event so our coordinators, Jo and Jackie, have created a modified event.
There will be one small and one large barrel. Each player will get four throws at each barrel, three times for a total of 24 throws.
Rules
- Three points for each buoy in the small barrel and two points for each buoy in the large barrel
- Most points that can be scored is 60
- Tossing line for 45-74 to barrels is 25 feet
- Tossing line for 75+ to barrels is 20 feet
- If there is a tie in an age group, each player will get four tosses at each barrel until a winner is declared
- The tope person in each age group will toss four at each barrel to determine the Grand Champion of Buoy Toss 2026
Start of Game
- Ages 45-74 will start at small barrel and after completing four tosses will move to the end of the large barrel line.
- Ages 75+ will start at the large barrel line and after completing four tosses will move to the end of the small barrel line.
- Be sure to tell your scorer your name each time you switch a line.
- Repeat the process until you have finished four tosses at each barrel.
This is a not National Senior Games event.
