Class of 2026
Jackie Belanger
Jackie was first introduced to Archery in 2011 when she volunteered at the Maine Senior Games Archery event. She immediately fell in love with the sport and within two weeks bought a Recurve Bow. In 2012 she volunteered again but she had her bow with her just in case but decided she wasn’t good enough to participate. The guys who were shooting talked her into registering onsite and join them. They were shooting Compound Release bows. Each time after the leader blew the whistle to retrieve their arrows he told everyone not to step on Jackie’s arrows on their way down. Shortly after that event she upgraded to a Compound Release bow, bought a target for her yard and started getting ready for the 2013 MSG. She has competed every year since, winning both silver and gold medals. In 2015 Jackie competed in Minneapolis at the National Senior Games coming in 4th. In 2017 she was in Birmingham where once again she came in 4th. 2019 was Albuquerque, where she got her first medal, a Silver, losing to the Gold Medalist by 5 points. In Pittsburgh in 2023 she finally got her Gold medal. Jackie also participates in Candlepin Bowling, Cornhole and Buoy Toss. Jackie has volunteered at many of the MSG games events over the years, loading and unloading the van, checking athletes in, and setting up for events. She is also currently an Ambassador and co- event coordinator of the Buoy Toss.
Jim Goodman

Jim has been swimming most of his life. He swam in high school and college and throughout 30 plus years with the Navy. As he rose up the ranks in the Navy, he always kept swimming competitively at various Navy-sponsored meets even taking his future wife Sandra to a swim meet on their second date. He joined the US Master’s Swimming in 1982 swimming from the local to world master’s level competition, looking for a meet anywhere he could, including forming a pick-up team from his ship in Bahrain to swim against the local American school of teenagers for fun. When Jim retired from the Navy at 50, he found the Maine Senior Games and his first competition was in 2004. He has only missed one season since then due to heart surgery and has attended the National Senior Games in 2023 in Pittsburgh. He has been very successful at the national level winning several medals, Gold in the 50 Breast, Silver in the 100 Breast, and Bronze in the 100 Free in 2025 and Silvers in Pittsburgh in the 50 Breast, 100 Breast, and 100 Free. Currently Jim continues to train 4-5 days a week at the Blue Hill YMCA with Charlie Noelle, another Gold Medalist at the Des Moines Nationals. He gives back to the sport by coaching the Ellsworth High School Swim Team (23 years), is an assistant coach at the Down East Family YMCA, a Masters Coach at the Blue Hill Y, teaches swim lessons, and lifeguards when needed. Congratulations Jim on a great career and Welcome to the Maine Senior Games Hall of Fame, class of 2026!
Tammy Pinkham
Tammy is a Pickleball player who was always involved in sports throughout her life, which was Volleyball until about 10 years ago when Jim Hutchison approached her to try Pickleball. Tammy was immediately hooked and Jim and his wife Cindy were extremely patient teaching Tammy and her husband Kevin the finer points of the game. Tammy has competed in the Maine Senior Games for several years and we can vouch for her claim that she loves the competition. We’ve been impressed by the way she approached her matches and this past year she was able to reap the rewards winning the Silver Medal at the National Senior Games in Des Moines. In addition to the competition, Tammy likes the focus, the thought of what goes into it, the fun, and the wonderful people she’s been lucky enough to meet along the way, “our pickleball tribe”. Tammy says, “The best thing about MSG is that we’re competing against our own ages and it’s about us. The Nationals are even better with all of this and so much more. I encourage everyone to play this quirky sport and especially the Senior Games.” She tells us that her mom cried when she showed her the silver medal from Des Moines and feels she was lucky enough have a mom who encouraged her daughters to be in sports. Tammy, congratulations and welcome to the Maine Senior Games Hall of Fame!

The Maine 207 women’s basketball team is part of the larger group here in southern Maine, known as Maine Senior Women’s Basketball. The women on this team are an inspiration to younger women who love the game of basketball and are respected by the older women who are still playing the game! The team has joined in various charitable giving projects with the larger group and annually the team participates in the Swish Out Childhood Cancer Tournament to support the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
The story of this team is about more than where the women came from, it’s about how they came together. 207 came together through a shared love of the game, uniting 3 Portland High School alumni, with 4 UMaine alumni. With roots in different places but a shared passion at their core, this team came together, building not just a team, but a story of connection, resilience, and success. Each player joined this team on her own journey, experiences and time away from the game. What united them was a shared love of basketball and a willingness to step back onto the court together. They have a unique bond as UMaine Alumni and return to UMaine each year for alumni weekend. They are great role models for the University of Maine women’s basketball team.
