Committee Volunteers

Volunteers are encouraged to join our board members on one of the following committees: Fund Development, Wellness, Marketing or Games. If you are interested in signing-up or learning more about our available committee positions, please complete our online form.

In-House Volunteers

Volunteers will come to a predetermined place to put things together for the events. Putting materials into the athletes’ bags, folding T-shirts, bulk mailing or whatever else needs to be put together for the events. Expected commitment: 1-3 hours per prep day.

On Site Event Check-in/Registration

Volunteers arrive early at an event to make sure everything is set up and ready for the athletes to check in or register. Check-in involves checking off names, giving athletes a bag, T-shirt or other items. Must stay throughout the entire event. This could be an all-day event or a few hours depending on the event. Must bring your own camp chair for outdoor events. Expected commitment will vary depending on the length of the event.

On-Site Event Support

Volunteers work at an event and would work with the event coordinator or meet director. This might involve being a spotter for golf, road marshal at road races, measuring at track and field or a scorekeeper at basketball. This could be an all-day event or a few hours depending on the event. Must bring your own camp chair for outdoor events. Expected commitment will vary depending on the length of the event.

Skills needed: Organization, friendly personality, patience and stamina for possible all-day events.

All volunteers will receive a volunteer T-Shirt to be worn at events. At all day events, lunch or snacks will be provided. Water is always available.

“I volunteer for the Maine Senior Games because I am inspired by seeing elders compete and stay fit even as we grow older. They still have fun playing as they did when they were younger. It inspires me to know that just because we are getting older, we can still have fun, stay fit make new friends and compete as we once did in our younger days” – Suzanne
